CASTRO, CHAVEZ & MANNING DID NOT SURVIVE TO SEE AIA OPEN BUT THANKED BY PM.
Three of the main contributors to the Argyle International Airport did not live to see the project completed.
Among the list of contributors are former prime minister of Cuba, the late Fidel Castro, the late President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez and former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago the late Patrick Manning.
Speaking on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves who described the Argyle International Airport as a project that was made possible by international collaboration also stressed that without the help of these contributors, the project would never have been completed.
He said that these men were instrumental in helping the project while he also noted that some of the countries that contributed to the AIA did not even have friendly relationships.
The PM also listed countries like, Austria, Mexico, Turkey, the Republic of Georgia and Gadhafi’s Libya as being instrumental in building the AIA.
