BAJANS WILL definitely go to the polls sometime within the “constitutionally determined period”, says Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
And when the election date is set by the Governor General, on the recommendation of Stuart, the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP), in office since 2008, will be going all out to win a third term.
That indication came from Stuart, who told the Midweek NATION in New York that he intended to stick to the provisions of the Constitution in setting the date for the voting.
Asked if he planned to call an election within the next six months, Stuart said: “What I can assure you is that elections are going to be called within the constitutionally determined period. We are not going beyond the constitutionally determined period.”
