What Are Our True Colours?
The time of harvest is upon us once again. We cannot come into the time of harvest without remembering Jesus’ words:
“The harvest is the end of the world (age),” Matthew 13:39
As we watch the crops lose their summer luster and the time of fruiting takes its toll on the plants, we are reminded that every plant will reproduce itself before it does. As we watch the failing beauty of each plant, a glorious thing happens. All the trees begin to change color and display their regal beauty. As we begin to study this phenominum we come to understand the fall colours the trees display are their true colours. During the spring and summer season their true colour is covered by a green substance made up mostly of cholorphyll. This is God’s design to purify the air and remove the odors. But in the harvest time God removes all the outer covering and reveals his true creation in all its glorious beauty. As we think on these things we remember the Scripture:
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
The invisible or Spiritual things are clearly seen in the things God created. God is about to remove the outer covering He has created man with, and reveal the hidden man of the heart. This is when our true colours will be revealed. We need to ask ourselves, “Will our true colours bring glory to the Father, or will He turn His face from us because we are unacceptable in His sight. Will our fruit be acceptable or has our fruiting time been wasted on riches, pleasures, and the cares of this life so we bring no fruit to perfection, Luke 8:14? The harvest time is upon us. The harvest is always followed by winter. Winter is the time of judgment. We need to prepare for the harvest during the summer rains when the Spirit is being poured out upon the earth. What Are Our True Colours?
My brothers and sisters the harvest is white, but the labourers are very few. Are you ready to work in the harvest of the Lord?
