Sir Godfrey Gregg D. Div, LOM
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
In the nature of things, religion must show much of its growth above ground. The flower and fruit of a holy life, abounding in good works, must be seen. It cannot be otherwise. But the surface growth must be based on a vigorous growth of unseen life and hidden roots.
The roots of religion must go down deep in the renewed nature to be seen on the other side. There should be much of the invisible and the underground growth, or else the life will be feeble and short-lived, and the external growth fruitless.
Lord, I want to bear the fruit of Your Spirit in my life. Please make my roots grow even deeper. Let me be like the tree planted by the river of living waters and bring forth fruits in due season. Amen
