“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2).
Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the missionary work. “Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.”
We are asking God to touch the hearts of men every day by the Holy Ghost so that they shall be compelled to go abroad and preach the Gospel. We are asking Him to wake them up at night with the solemn conviction that the heathen is perishing, and that their blood will be upon their souls, and God is answering the prayer by sending persons to us every day who “feel that the King’s business requireth haste.” Are you one that has answered the call?
Beloved, pray, pray, pray; and as the incense rises to the heavens, “there will be silence in heaven” by the space of more than half an hour, and the coals of fire will be emptied out upon the earth, and the coming of the Lord will begin to draw nearer. Pray till the Lord of the harvest shall thrust forth labourers into His harvest.
