It’s amazing what praises can do. Another day to give thanks and praise to the King of all Kings. Do not allow any situation to hinder your praise. Do not allow your fiery trials to cause you to lose Hope. Hope in the Lord, His Hope will never lead you to disappointment.
I’m continuing my Writing from Ezekiel 37. The valley of dry bones. Verse 4 says, ‘’Again God said unto me, prophesy upon these bones and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones. Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live. I will lay sinews upon you and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall know that I am the Lord’’.
God told Ezekiel to preach to these dead bones. We don’t know what was going on in Ezekiel’s mind at the time, but I can almost imagine. Here’s Ezekiel standing in the midst of bones that are dead. No life in them whatsoever and God tells him to preach to the dead. Beloved, God is saying to Ezekiel something that is very important and that you and I need to understand today. He is saying there is power in preaching the word of God. The bible is a book that has life in it. Hebrews 4:12 says ‘’ The word of God is alive and is powerful and is sharper than any two-edged sword’’. Beloved, the bible is alive and this bible gives life and God is pleased by the preaching of the word to take things that are dead and make them alive. Hallelujah!!!! If we pause and study the history of revivals, we will discover that in the midst of every great revival, there were great preachers. Every time God moves in revival, He does it through the preaching of the Word and that is why there is an effort today to do away with the preaching of the Word of God.
We can go anywhere in this Bible and there is a message from God. Let me encourage my readers to not minimize the preaching of the Word of God. There is power in preaching the word of God. Verse 7 says, “So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.” Notice that Ezekiel is preaching to the bones. Toe bone connected to the foot bone, foot bone connected to the ankle bone etc. That’s a miracle… They came to the exact location. All of a sudden, he is preaching to those bones and they begin to come together, bone to bone. Verse 8 says, ‘’And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above, but there was no breath in them’’. A whole army of lifeless bodies, there was no breath in them.
There are some people who think you can get God’s business done by the organization. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not minimizing organization. A body has to have an organization. If your body is not organized when you dip your fork in to get your food, and your hand is not organized with your mouth etc. You have to have an organization. But if you have a church that is organized and it doesn’t have breath in it, all you have is an organized, dead corpse.
So, God tells Ezekiel to preach not only to the bones but to the breath. ‘’ Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind…’’ Preach to the wind. Preach to the breath. ‘’ O son of man, and say to the wind, thus saith the Lord God. Come from the four winds, o breath, and breathe upon these slain that they may live.’’ This reminds me of what happened in creation. When God created man in Genesis 2, verse 7 says, ‘’And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground.’’ At that point in time, all it was, were an organized dead corpse. Then it says, ‘’And God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.’’ Beloved, it was the breath of God that brought life into man. The same thing is true about the new birth. When a person is born again, Jesus said in John 3 that you have to be born of the spirit. God has to breath spiritual life into your heart. Verse 10 of Ezekiel 37 says, ‘’So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.’’ An army that felt discouraged, an army that felt hopeless, and an army that felt depressed finally sprang to life. The Word and the Spirit put them together, and it gave them life, it gave them new hope, it gave them a new Joy. The word of God is life, it is spirit. The bible says The entrance of the word gives light. I remember Job 14:7-9 says ‘’ For there is hope of a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof died in the ground. Yet through the scent of water, it will bud, and spring forth boughs like a plant’’. I want to encourage somebody that there is Hope even if you are cut down by the circumstances of life, all you need to do is search for the scent of water.
A scent of water can revive you, it can encourage you, it will surely give you Hope. Job knew that if a tree is cut down and not uprooted, it has the chance to grow again. Thank God that the situation you are passing through is just on the surface and has not affected your roots. I pray that your enemy will not have permanent victory over you in Jesus Name. Folks, There is Hope! Once you are breathing There’s Hope! Don’t give up, Don’t throw in the towel, Don’t drop out from the race. Keep fighting, Keep pressing. Stay in the race for There is Still Hope. Remember, The race is not for the swift, neither the battle for the strong, but for those who endure to the end. Beloved, Stay Encouraged, Stay Focused and Stay Empowered.
There is still Hope!!!
