HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
“ And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3).
When work is pressing there are many little things that will come and seem to need attention. Then it is a very blessed thing to be quiet and still, and work on, and trust the little things with God. The enemy knows when you are pressing on that a little distraction will change the plan of action if you will only listen. That is the time to keep pressing onward and upward.
He answers such trust in a wonderful way. If the soul has no time to fret and worry and harbour care, it has learned the secret of faith in God. A desperate desire to get some difficulty right takes the eye off of God and His glory. And I am encouraging us to stay focus and connected to the spiritual umbilical cord which is your source of life
Some dear ones have been so anxious to get well, and have spent so much time in trying to claim it, that they have lost their spiritual blessing. God sometimes has to teach such souls that there must be a willingness to be sick before they are so thoroughly yielded as to receive His fullest blessing.
The enemy often keeps at this work. Sanballat came four times to Nehemiah and received always the same answer. It is best to stick to a good answer. How many fears we have stopped to fight which have proved to be nothing at last. Nehemiah recognized that fear was sin and did not dare to yield to it. Brethren let us be reminded that Sanballat is in the midst of the congregation, but one thing he or she does not know is what “blueprint” you are working from. There is an old saying, “a still tongue keeps a wise head”. In these last days, the least you can utter is better for you on the last lap of your spiritual journey. Hear my encouragement now, “Be still and know your God.”
So I bless all our readers, brothers and sisters to walk in the vocation wherein you were called and be not entangled in the yoke of bondage. Press on and labour in patience until He comes. God bless us all.
