HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div

“The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.” (John 12:21).

I want to thank the Lord for another day and season as we approach another new year and decade. With only a few more days left in this year my desire is to see the Lord. Hallelujah

Glory to Him for all the things laid up for us in the days to come. Glory to Him for all the visions of service in the future; the opportunities of doing good that is far away as well as close at hand.

Our Saviour was able to despise the cross for the joy that was before Him. Let us look up to Him, and rise up to Him till we get on high and are able to look out from the mount of vision over all the land of far distances. There shall not a single thing come to us in all the future in which we may not be able to see the King in His beauty.

Let us be very sure that we do not see anything else. Our pupils will become impressed as they look at this vision so that they will not be able to reflect anything else.

We may be looking at something with our natural eyes and are delighted to see the impression of a man. Yes, we may be excited and that is to show you that there are greater things in store if we will only open our spiritual eyes and look beyond the veil of this human flesh. We used to sing this chorus in Sunday School “There are better things in store.” I believe someone had the vision and was expressing it to us in song. One day I pray our eyes open to see the beauty that is awaiting us.

So, if we look a long time upon Jesus we cannot look at anything else without seeing a reflection of Him. Everything which we behold will become a part of Him. There is where we have to focus our attention away from man to Him and Him alone so that the life of Jesus will be reflected in us.
