You probably don’t need to reread today’s key verse to know that people 1 with an attractive physical appearance (men and women alike) have many advantages in this life. It’s just part of fallen human nature that you somehow equate having “the look” with important qualities that have nothing to do with personal appearance.
But it’s not like that with God. He doesn’t care what men look like or how tall they are or what they’ve accomplished in this life. He concerns Himself only with what is in your heart and mind-definitely not with what you look like.
The verse quoted above stands as a challenge for you to do two things. First, you should make sure you never judge or evaluate anyone, including yourself, based on physical appearance. Second, You should evaluate your own heart to make sure you are focused on pleasing God in every area of your life.
Righteous God, thank You for looking into my heart and for knowing me better than I know myself. Search my heart today and let me know if there is anything that displeases You.
