Greetings to all our readers, Commanding officers, and well-wishers.
As we close the year 2017 and look ahead to the New Year 2018, we do it with patience, hope, love, and peace.
Last year (2017) was described as a fast-moving year and that may be so, because of the way thins evolved at such a fast pace. Politics, in the United States, the Caribbean, and many other foreign countries. The inauguration of the President in the US and the rapid pace of his agenda.
The opening of the Argyle Airport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the looming election petitions coming out of the 2015 general election which was won by the ruling ULP. We also saw the departure of the Leader of the Opposition and president of the NDP and its subsequent replacement with a man from the Grenadine Island of Bequia. The ruling of the petitions have the ULP ready to call a snap midterm elections should they lose the case. However the outcome 2018 will see some unrest in the country.
The murders in SVG are climbing to an alarming rate like there is competition among the islands. However, preparations must be made for an active 2018 Hurricane season and prayers are needed now to stay the hand of God in our beloved homeland.
As the celebrations continue in the islands with an influx of visitors I urge you to be wise in your decisions and treat each person as a member of your household. I beg of you-you have a peaceful get-together and have good fun.
May Almighty God overshadow the countries in the Caribbean and God bless St. Vincent and the Grenadines. God bless the Gregg family
Sir Godfrey Gregg
